Long Description:True Story.
A friend of mine said, while we were in the coffee house across
the street, and said, "It's nice that people can go to this library
knowing that it's a bacon free library, but why bother? Aren't they
all?"
I just smiled back at her.
She saw me smiling and said, "What?"
At first I was just asking things like, "Who would need to know
this?" She replied, vegetarians and Jewish people who eat kosher
foods.
I had to explain that it was a family named "Bacon" who either
founded the library or made an endowment to it!
The letters are over the main entrance to a beautiful red-stone
building on Eliot Street, in a triangle of land bounded by Eliot,
Pleasant and Mill Streets.
