Intel was founded in 1968, by Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore when they left Fairchild Semiconductor. Noyce became Intel's first President and Moore was Executive Vice President. They were joined by Andy Grove. Andy became president in 1979, when Moore move to Chairman and CEO. Grove is widely regarded for transforming Intel from a memory chip manufacturer to a microprocessor manufacturer.
