Ankeny National Wildlife Refuge is one of three major refuges in the mid Willamette Valley. This area is renowned for thousands of indigenous species, and is the primary winter home for Western Canadian Geese. The primary flora here is Oregon Ash. Some of the trails here are only open seasonally, but this boardwalk is open year-round. Conditions can be difficult when snowy or icy. The entrance to the parking lot and trail is at 44-46.438 123-04.667.
