Killifreth Hawke’s Shaft Pumping Engine House.
Operational 1893 – 97 with an 80” engine and 1912 – 21 with an 85”, which necessitated raising the stack to its present height.
Conservation of this structure was authorised and funded by Carrick District Council in 1987. The work was carried out by Manpower Services Commission Community Action Programme under the supervision of Mr Howard Martin.

Access for the engine house is via a public foot path the runs along beside the building.
