This garden is laid out as a "wet strolling" garden, meaning that it is intended to reveal its changing perspectives to those who use its winding paths and stepping stones (rather than passively view it from a seat in the teahouse) and that it has water features which present an idealized view of nature. The waterfall here is so natural in its setting that it's easy to believe the whole garden was constructed around its stream - but it falls twenty feet in three cascades from hidden plumbing in the rocks behind the trees.
Admission to the Tea Garden is $5 per adult; free of charge between before 10AM weekdays. It's open from 8:30AM - 5PM daily.
