The seeds for this tree sprouted in 1293. That is before the Aztec settled Mexico City and the Ming Dynasty started in China. It was harvested in 1938 from the Okefenokee swamp.
The zoo is open everyday of the year from 10 AM - 5PM. The summer hours are slightly longer. Admission is $12 for adults, $8 for children and seniors.
