Carpenters Brook Fish Hatchery was originally co-owned and operated by Onondaga County and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service under a W.P.A. Grant in 1938. It has been in continuous operation since that time and produces over 70,000 Trout each year. The hatchery re-stocks these fish into over 100 miles of streams and rivers in the area.
Carpenters Brook is also a small county park that has a shelter that is available, by reservation, for family get togethers. They also have childrens fishing derbies and a program for the handicapped and elderly, allowing them the experience of fishing, called, "Time Out to Fish".
The hatchery is open, free to the public, from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm each day. They are located at 1672 Route 321, Elbridge, New York.
