This location is directly across from the San Francisco Zoo. (Their original location is a mile away, at the ocean side of Golden Gate Park.)
From the Java Beach website:
"The foundation of Java Beach has always been a commitment to serving superb coffee. All our coffee is locally roasted and it is all organic, sustainable and fair trade. We look forward to drinking the coffee everyday ourselves!
Forever a work in progress, Java Beach is the love and life work of Patrick and Buffy Maguire. Java Beach is more than a coffee shop; it is a second home to many or a friend’s living room to others. Many relationships and marriages began at Java Beach and now the second generation of Java Beach customers are tall enough to order their own drinks and, sometimes, old enough to pay for them!"
As a cafe, their food offerings are well-chosen, delicious, and reasonably priced. They have hot and cold sandwiches plus salads and extras from breakfast hours though 10PM.
