An interesting sea cave has eroded to form a natural arch at Cave Beach, Waverley on the Taranaki west coast.

Waverley Beach is an 8 km long stretch of black sand, consisting of unique landforms of caverns, ravines, blowholes and eroding stacks carved into the cliffs by wave erosion.
At the nearby Cave Beach a sea cave has formed a natural arch by wave erosion. The hole through the rock can only be walked through at low tide. It is possible to climb up onto the sandstone arch.
There are other interesting caves and formations to explore at Cave Beach on low tide.
Access is off SH3 at Waverley, turn down Waverley Beach Road, and travel east along Waipipi Road.
