This trail takes about 2 1/2 hours to complete. It is 5 miles of mainly level and sandy trails. A small stretch follows the Legacy Trail which is part of the rails to trails program. It explores the remote areas of Oscar Scherer State Park and passes through mesic pine flatwoods, prarie hammocks and scrubby flatwoods. There are benches along the trail. Oscar Scherer is noted for it's population of Florida Scrub Jays. We hiked a good portion of this trail and it can be difficult walking as there is much sugar sand.
