This is a Cal Fire (California Department of Forestry) station. It has staff throughout the year, augmented by seasonal personnel in the summer dry season. Their main response engines are four-wheel drive off-highway capable vehicles which can pump 500 gpm. In addition, this station is one of the CDF helicopter bases.
Its area of responsibility is southern San Benito County and eastern Monterey County.
