Miss Syracuse Diner is an easily recognizable landmark in Syracuse, as it has been located in the downtown area since at least the 1950's. The dining car was believed to have been built by the Bixler Dining Car Company of Ohio in 1939. It was originally located on Erie Boulevard, then later, moved to its present location at 258 East Water Street. It has seen several owners come and go, with its current owner being the husband and wife team of Dan and Brett Galloway. The Galloways purchased the un-occupied restaurant and opened the doors for business on December 1st, 2008, one month before the Zippy the Pinhead strip was published.
