A small cairn marks the spot where Ettington once thrived. Incorporated in 1914 as a village, Ettington, at its peak boasted two general stores, butcher shop, bank, poolroom, cafe, two implement dealers, blacksmith shop, livery stable, lumberyard, thirteen houses, station agent, and two elevators. A post office was moved in from a rural location in 1913. The post office closed in 1964. The rail line, now seldom used still runs past the site. All that remains are a few hedges and a couple of huge old trees, and one forlorn old house off to one side.
