The Chagrin Valley Little Theater started life as a community theater presenting productions at the nearby Federated Church in 1930. After its first season at the church, the group moved to the second floor of the Chagrin Falls Town Hall where they remained until 1943 when a fire destroyed the second floor of the town hall. In 1947 fundraising efforts were started to build a new theater for the group. In 1949 the Little Theater became the home of the Chagrin Valley Little Theater and remains its home today. Some small productions are staged at the nearby Riverstreet Playhouse which is a black box theater.
Since its formation, the Chagrin Valley Little Theater has presented over 830 productions.
