Bob Hope was a long time resident in Burbank. There are many places named after him around town.
He first started entertaining the troops in 1941. His last shows for active-duty troops were in 1990 during Operation Desert Shield. He did 1000 shows for the military during his 50 year career. In October 1997 both houses unanimously passed Resolution 75, making him the first honorary veteran in US history.
There are many web sites that talk about Bob Hope and his patriotism. This area of the park dedicated to veterans is a great place for this plaque.
