Long Description:
This Hot-Air Balloon Festival (Waymark WM5Q0Q) concluded with a
Telstar Pyrotechnics Fireworks Festival. I do not use the word
"spectacular" lightly! Here's what we (Trophywife and Telomere)
did: just about dusk, we put our canoe in on the Suncook river,
right in downtown Pittsfield, just above the falls. We paddled
about 1/3 mile upriver to the bend where the river widens out next
to the field used for the balloons...the fireworks are launched
from the cemetary, and we were looking straight UP at a show truly
amazing for its quantity AND quality! With the fireworks in the sky
AND reflecting on the water all around us, it was like being INSIDE
the fireworks! We were left gasping and giggling, and had to
compose ourselves enough to paddle back down to the Jeeps. We will
definitely be in this spot for the 2010 show! Of course, I am sure
the folks on the shore had a great view also, or so I've heard.
Either way, Not To Be Missed. Admission is FREEEEE!
