From Florida: A Guide to the Southernmost State
The HOME OF JOHN PAREDES (Arnau House), 54 St. George St., a two-story coquina block building covered with rusty stucco, with three dormer windows and a tall coquina chimney, is occupied by a curio, souvenir, and antique shop. It was built between 1805 and 1813 and is owned by the St. Augustine Historical Society.
The building was restored around 1970 and is managed by the University of Florida after the city could no longer afford to maintain it. The building is amongst the numerous other tourist shops and is home currently to the Saint Augustine Art Glass and Craft Gallery.
