This beast greets visitors to the Oakland University Athletics Center. The eight-foot bronze sculpture weighs nearly a ton. It was created by the parents of OU swimmer Hunor Ma'te of Hungary. The university, students and OU Student Congress raised more than $35,000 to acquire it.
OU is a Division I-AAA school with 18 regular season titles, 35 tournament championships, and 24 NCAA appearances, as of early 2009.
