This handsome work is located in La Arcada Court, courtesy of the Hugh Petersen family. The sculptor is J. Seward Johnson, Jr., a prominent American artists whose works are so realistic that they are sometimes mistaken for living people. Mr. Franklin is depicted seated comfortably on a bench, holding a large and legible copy of the Declaration of Independence - which he had helped write and revise after Thomas Jefferson composed the first draft.
