The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States last night instituted the new Madera post which will be known as the Corporal Herbert E. Macon Post Number 1981, in honor of the son of Horace Macon. It is believed he was the first boy from Madera County to give his life in battle for his country's honor during the World War.

O'Meara; junior vice-commander Robert Medler; chaplain, Harry Anderson; quarter-master George D. McDonough; officer-of-the-day, Homer Hogans; trustees, F Sharp, James F. Murphy, and John Pimental.
