The old view (probably 1950s or maybe earlier) shows passenger vessels that served the communities on Smith Island (MD) and Tangier Island (VA). From left, the vessels were the Miss Whitelock and Island Belle. The name of the vessel on the right is not known.
The recent photo shows the same dock (called the 'Depot' locally). Passenger vessels bound to the islands still frequent the dock but the photo was taken on a Sunday afternoon, after they had departed.
