The memorial is a small statue with a firemans uniform, and a flag. The marker reads:
"In honor of all residents and employees of the City of Hazel Park, Michigan who have served as fire fighters/ first responders. For they respond in the face of danger to protect and save their fellow man. Firefighters push into the epicenter to extract those who may be trapped by the flames and perils: Each time aware that their own lives could be extinguished in the quest. To be willling to march into hell for a heavenly cause..
