Eagleville Post Office was established on May 7, 1832 as the Manchester Post Office. Since there was already a Manchester, TN the need for a new name for this post office came about. On August 16, 1836 this town officially became Eagleville, TN.
The name was not the only confusion. This area at the time was Williamson County. The mail would come over the old post road from Columbia. When we officially became Eagleville we were still getting mail from Columbia even though we were still a part of Williamson County. On March 24, 1877 we were officially made part of Rutherford County by Act of the General Assembly of Tennessee.
