This view of the city is from the north near the top of the Niagara Escarpment. To reach it just drive south on Sydenham Rd from Dundas St (Highway 5) or north on Sydenham St from King St W (Highway 8). At the posted coordinates you'll find a small parking area big enough for half a dozen cars. There's a stone wall at the viewing area for safety. Please don't climb over it. The place is very busy during the summer.
To the east you can see Cootes Paradise and Hamilton Harbour. With binoculars or a good zoom lens you can see some of the steel mills in the distance. To the south east you can see some of the buildings of downtown Hamilton. To the south the lights of Highway 403 are visible as it climbs the escarpment. The the south west is the town of Dundas which is now part of Hamilton.
