This Mastedon skeleton is located inside the Rochester Museum & Science Center, in Rochester, New York. In the museum, one large section on the ground floor is dedicated to the dinosaurs that were found to live in the area that is now New York State.

This Mastedon skeleton is made up of 229 bones, all coming together to show the massive size of these ancient relatives of the modern day Elephant. Next to the skeleton is another Mastedon that is displayed, fully dressed with skin and fur. This area of the museum is dedicated to displaying what the area now known as New York State would have looked like millions of years ago. They have plenty of fossils, dioramas, and hands on displays available.
There is an admission fee to enter the museum, as of this writing, adults cost $10.00, children over 3 years old cost $8.00, under 3 years old gets in for free. This museum has several floors with displays covering many subjects and is well worth the admission price.
