The Bungalow Shops, an early day strip mall, was located on the corner of Second Street and Cifton Avenue. Some of the original structure is still present on the block.

In the early 1900's, Lakewood was the winter resort town of the rich and famous, and large hotels catered to hundreds of guests at a time. These shops probably sold souvenirs to tourists.
In 1912, the center section was torn down, and the People's National Bank erected. Two sections of the building still exist today, still flanking that rebuilt center section.
