Established in 1894, this hatchery is one of the oldest run by the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Provides 15 million rainbow trout eggs for growth into fingerlings around the country.

A cold water hatchery to provide 3-6 different species of rainbow trout eggs and fingerlings across the country. Once the fish are no longer needed for eggs, they are released into Eastern Tennessee stream or those on the Cherokee Indian Reservation in North Carolina. The site as a picnic pavilion and visitors center. Tours are available if arranged in advance. This location also has the Unicoi Co. Heritage Museum, which use to be the hatchery manager's home. (Open May-October)

Coordinates are right in front on the hatchery sign on the visitors' center. There is a geocache also placed on the property.
