"Built Like a Mack Truck", or so the saying went.
The Mack Brothers, led by John or "Jack," bought Fallesen & Berry, a carriage and wagon company company that they worked for in 1893. In 1900, the Macks open their first bus manufacturing plant and The Mack bus, ordered by a sightseeing company, is delivered. In 1905, Allentown selected as the home of main manufacturing operations, and headquarters and the focus of the company turned to trucks.
The Mack Bulldog is one of the most recognized corporate symbols in the USA today.
