Repeaters
General Information
The callsign for these repeaters is WW4VA.
Time-out timers are set for 2.5 minutes on all 3 repeaters.
Most of the announcements and ID's on the repeaters are "polite," that is they will cease if you key up and talk over them. The exceptions are weather, emergency and critical announcements, and some command responses initiated by a control operator.
When a net or special event is in progress, it is usually only being conducted on one of the repeaters; the other repeaters are usually free -- the exception is the weekly SARA net when all the repeaters are in use.
We have a CAT WX-1000 weather receiver connected to both the 147.270 and 444.450 repeaters, which activates when the National Weather Service issues severe weather announcements for the following areas: the counties of Stafford, Prince William, Fauquier, Spotsylvania, and King George, and the City of Fredericksburg.
We also have a closed telephone autopatch for use by members on the 444.450 repeater only. Note: The autopatch is currently under repair.
