The Manassas National Battlefield Park is located in the Virginia countryside in Prince William County. 5000 acres comprise the Battlefield Park. NPS established in 1940 to preserve the scene of two major Civil War Battles in 1861 and 1862. Cancellation stamp can be accessed in the bookstore. Make sure to also receive the The Stone house stamp as well if available. Located about 35 miles from Washington, DC. Check website for civil war related activities including anniversary living history recreations. Many monuments and memorials dedicated to those who fought and died here! See the Stone house and bridge. Stonewall Jackson memorial, Henry Hill, Stuarts Hill, etc. The first major Battle of the Civil War happened here.
