The Holden Arboretum is located on 3,500 acres of land in Northeast Ohio. It was established in 1931 with 100 acres. Today the land holdings host over 19,000 plants. There are eight distinct collection areas within the arboretum showcasing conifers, magnolias, crabapples, nut trees, hedge specimen trees, lilacs, and viburnums.
The site is also home to a full maple sugar production facility, an Audubon Society birding area and hosts some of the area's most challenging cross-country skiing. During the warm weather months it hosts popular plant sales. The Corning Center is a local educational center.
The arboretum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days per week.
