"Chu - Lai"
Down in Chu-Lai Village
South Vietnam is the spot
Where we are doomed to serve,
In the land that God forgot,
With the VC and mosquitoes
Down where the men got blue;
Right in the middle of nowhere
Thousands of miles from you.
We shiver, we shake, we sweat,
It's more than a man can stand,
We're not a bunch of convicts
Just defenders of our land.
Spending your time in Vietnam
Saving our measly pay,
Guarding people with millions
For just a few cents a day.
So when we get to heaven
St. Peter we will tell,
"We're the boys from Vietnam,
We've served our time in Hell."

[This Apache helicopter is the last remaining, intact, Apache to have flown in combat in Panama.]
