Discovered in 1891 by Mollie Kathleen Gortner as one of the early discovery claims of the Cripple Creek Gold Camp, the Mollie Kathleen Mine produced well over five million dollars during markets periods of 20 and 35 dollars per ounce gold prices.

Geologically berthed at 10,000 feet above sea level in a volcanic caldera known globally as "The World's Greatest Gold Camp" the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine holds a rich gold mining history while being continually maintained and preserved, has evolved as an educational tribute to the hard rock gold mining heritage of the Cripple creek Gold Mining District.
