This elevation mark is located along an abandoned segment of the old Century Drive, about 12.0 miles southwest of Bend. The cap is set in the southeast end of a prominent rock outcrop, about 25 feet northeast of the centerline of the old road. The cap was set by the U.S. Geological Survey in 1929 and was marked P-39.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1963. REACHED FROM THE POST OFFICE IN BEND BY GOING SOUTHWEST ON CENTURY DRIVE FOR 11.6 MILES TO A FORK, WHERE CENTURY DRIVE BENDS SHARPLY TO THE NORTHWEST, TAKE LEFT FORK AND GO WESTERLY ON THE DIRT ROAD FOR 0.25 MILE TO THE BENCH MARK ON THE RIGHT, 0.1 MILE NORTHWEST OF THE DIRT ROAD AND ANOTHER DIRT ROAD GOING SOUTH TO KIWA BUTTE SPRINGS, 24 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER OF THE DIRT ROAD AND 2 FEET NORTHEAST OF A METAL WITNESS POST AT THE SOUTHEAST END OF A PROMINENT ROCK OUTCROP AND LEVEL WITH THE DIRT ROAD.
