This elevation mark is located along an abandoned segment of the old Century Drive, about 12.5 miles southwest of Bend. The cap is set in a large boulder, about 70 feet southeast of the junction of Rds 4613 054 & 4613 050 near Big Spring. The cap was set by the U.S. Geological Survey in 1929 and was marked P-38.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1963. REACHED FROM THE POST OFFICE IN BEND BY GOING SOUTHWEST ON CENTURY DRIVE FOR 12.5 MILES TO A DIRT ROAD ON THE LEFT AND SIGN ON THE RIGHT, BIG SPRING, TURN LEFT AS PER SIGN AND GO SOUTHWESTERLY ON THE DIRT ROAD FOR 0.35 MILE TO THE BENCH MARK ON THE LEFT, 70 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE JUNCTION OF THE DIRT ROAD AND A ROAD LEADING SOUTH TO BIG SPRING, 3 FEET NORTH OF A METAL WITNESS POST AND 2 FEET EAST OF A PINE TREE WITH A TRIANGLE BLAZE IN A 4 BY 4 FOOT ROCK OUTCROP THAT PROJECTS 4 INCHES.
