This bandstand replica is located in Heritage Village in Largo, Florida. The original bandstand was built in Williams Park in St. Pete but was destroyed in 1921 by a hurricane.

c.1894 Wooden bandstand built
1910s Elevated bandstand, enlarged stage and added restrooms in basement area.
1920 Bandstand moved to Waterfront Park, destroyed in October 1921 hurricane
1920 New bandstand with a concave “half moon” shell built
1953 New ‘modern’ band shell with painted roof and expanded platform built
1981 Replica of 1894 bandstand built at Heritage Village by the local U.S. Navy Seabees Reserve Unit

Napoleon Bonaparte Broward spoke at Williams Park. At the turn of the century, all political candidates spoke to crowds without the benefit of public address systems. Napoleon Bonaparte Broward was the nineteenth governor of the U.S. state of Florida from January 3, 1905 to January 5, 1909. He also served as the sheriff of Duval County, Florida, and in the Florida House of Representatives.
