It took three years for Howard to craft a wooden boat modeled after Christopher Columbus’ legendary sailing ships. Guests first access the Boat-in-the-Moat Restaurant by “walking the plank” and crossing a draw bridge. Inside, the boat is home to several pieces of Howard’s art. Stained glass windows catch the sunlight and then bask the dining room in red and yellow hues. Sculptures of fish adorn the walls and windows, and a hidden portrait of a scantily clad mermaid hides in the rafters, watching over diners. (visit link)
