Statute is on a small sunny hill next to a duck pond.
The impression that I had gotten is that the dog is tired after chasing ducks all morning in ice cold water. The dog has found a more profitable pastime by resting in the sun although he looks up one last time before his nap because one of the ducks had ventured dangerous close.
