This state park is a very popular local destination for campers in the Kinzua Reservoir Region. Camp sites range from tent to RV to yurts and cabins. The park is open year-round and is very popular in the winter for sledding, cross-country skiing, ice fishing and as an access trailhead for 300 miles of Allegheny National Forest snowmobile trails. Entrance to the park is free. There are fees for some activities (camping boat and rentals). The coordinates listed will take you to the drive. On your right at this point as you enter is the rangers' office. On your left is the Environmental Learning Center. The road goes in two directions past this point. Both will take you to multiple parking lots.
The park is also a great place to look for wildlife. Bald eagle sightings are common at the east end of the lake. The lake is a popular migratory spot for many waterfowl species of ducks. We have seen tundra swan stopping over during migration.
The woods and trails away from the developed areas offer challenging hikes and adventures.
The park annually hosts a popular local draw, the Warren County Winterfest. Each year the Winterfest draws a large crowd of visitors to participate in winter activities, including the popular Polar bear Plunge.
