Long Description:
Built on a former farm of rolling hills a decade ago, Winged Deer Park consists of a baseball/softball fields, disc golf course, beach area, fishing pier, walking trails, soccer fields, etc. An Eagle Scout project in 1998 constructed a mile long map-and-compass course along side of the walking trails and disc course. In 2008, I helped checked the condition of the course (couple of the green markers missing) and expanded to have waypoints, thus useful for teach both basic compass and GPS receiver usage. (Which I did in March 2008.)

Goal in 2009 is to work with the Johnson City Parks and Recreation group to get the two missing markers replaced and/or reroute the course description, then link the information to the Winged Deer Park webpage (see web link below). This waymark will be useful in keeping that effort going forward.

The waymark coordinates are for the starting point - as seen in the student sheet in the gallery.
