This historic site used to be where the villagers obtained their water supply from before the mains were laid on to the area. It is protected with an attractive thatched roof structure. Standing outside the appropriately named 'Pump Cottage' it supplied water to the Rectory Lane houses and the Old School right up to the 1960s.

There is no plaque for this historic feature but it is detailed in the attractive village guide at the website below.
