Timeline:
1300 This buildiing has been erected as a defense tower of the Castle
Linn, about 2km to the north-east.
1575 first official documentation of this mill as a "Bannmuehle" which had to be used by the farmers of Linn.
1800 The mill becomes privat property.
1945 The mill will not be used as mill any longer.
1959 The city of Krefeld becomes the new owner.
1991 Re-opening of the mill as part of the museum-centre Krefeld-Linn
2007 Reconditioning of the mill after more than 60 years of standstill by the Bauverein Geismuehle Krefeld.

Opening hours are from Mai to October, every first and third sunday a month from 2 to 5 pm.



Die Mühle auf der Geest (Sandrücken) ist eine der letzten noch vollständig erhaltenen Windmühlen am Niederrhein.
1300 Einrichtung als Wehrturm der 2km nordöstlich liegenden Burg Linn.
1575 Erste Urkundliche Erwähnung, bis zur Franzosenzeit (1798). Bannmühle (Benutzungszwang) für die Bauern des Amtes Linn.
1800 Die Mühle wird Privatbesitz.
1945 Der Betrieb der Mühle wird eingestellt.
1959 Erwerb durch die Stadt Krefeld.
1991 Öffnung der Mühle als Teil des Museumszentrum Krefeld-Linn.
2007 Instandsetzung und Gangbarmachung der Geismühle nach über 60 Jahren Stillstand durch den Bauverein Geismühle Krefeld-Oppum.

Öffnungszeiten:
Mai - Oktober: Jeden 1. und 3. Sonntag im Monat von 14-17 Uhr.
Sonderführungen ganzjährig, nach Vereinbarung.
