You can tell that this windmill is no longer practical, because the eucalyptus trees have grown so far that they must be blocking the wind from flowing through. That's surely OK with the old house owners, because this rural area started getting water from the state water project decades ago, and don't need to pump their own now. Looks like they haven't wanted to take down their tall water tank, either; maybe they'll end up needing it someday, after all.
