This home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Reading the description of the home and property there is mention of an intact cast-iron hitching post, near the road in front of the house. It dates back to the nineteenth century. The photo of this home in Cobblestone Quest by Rich & Sue Freeman published in 2005 also shows this hitching post. The photos taken here do not show it! Do not know what happened to it.
