The main part of this playground is covered by a canopy, so you can still have fun even if there is a hurricane. There are some pretty decent restroom on site as well as convenient, metered parking directly across the street.
There are two slides, one straight, the other, spiral. There is a swing set off to the side and two picnic benches. The entire "floor" of the area is covered in astroturf, yet another unique feature.
The parks and recreation department keeps a nice little website with anecdotes for each of it sparks and plazas. The excerpt for this playground reads: "A quiet passive park nestled in the south Hollywood Beach community with picnic tables, benches, pavilion, recently resurfaced playground with shade structure, a climbing wall and swings for the enjoyment of visitors to this coastal park, located 1/2 block from the beach area."
