DAVIS FAMILY GENEALOGY
First Generation:
1. Ebenezar DAVIS was born 16 Jul 1726 in
Conneticut and died in Alleghany Co. Maryland, his will is dated 18
November 1793.
His wifes name was Sarah.
Second Generation:
2. Levi DAVIS (Ebenezar 1) was born 05 Oct 1751 in
Hampshire Co. Virginia. Levi was Private in the Revolutionary War
1777/78 (Pen. # S.32210MD). He served under Capt. Thomas Bell of
Fort Cumberland in Col. Rawling's Regt. His wife was Hannah
SHEPHARD daughter of Thomas SHEPHARD. Levi died 06 March 1846 (or
08 Mar 1847) in Owen Twp, Illinois and is buried in Mitchell
Cemetery of that city.

9. Nancy DAVIS (Levi 2, Ebenezar 1) was married 13
march 1825 in Washington Co. Indiana to John McNEALY.
10. Irene DAVIS (Levi 2, Ebenezar 1) was married to John
HENDRIX.
11. Rachel DAVIS (Levi 2, Ebenezar 1) was born ca. 1785 and died
1833. She was married in 1805 to Solomon RITCHEY
12. Sarah DAVIS (Levi 2, Ebenezar 1) was married to Shelby
HARNEY.
13. Steven DAVIS (Levi 2, Ebenezar 1)
14. James DAVIS (Levi 2, Ebenezar 1) On 10 November 1851 James was
the administrator of his fathers estate in Jackson Co.
Indiana.
15. Rebecca DAVIS (Levi 2, Ebenezar 1) was married to John
CRIDER.
16. Effie DAVIS (Levi 2, Ebenezar 1) was married to Aaron
GILSTRAP.
17. Jane DAVIS (Levi 2, Ebenezar 1) was married to Samuel
STARR.

Directions: From Brownstown, Indiana take US Hwy 50
West to State Hwy 58, turning right or North, go to State Road 58
West. This Cemetery sits on a hill and can not be seen from the
highway. There is a wooden sign with the name Bagwell Cemetery by
the Highway. This cemetery is in Section 15 of Owen Township,
Jackson County, Indiana.
