Ranchers for generations have relied on Aermotor to power the pumps which fill vital water tanks. This cattle ranch covers more than 500 acres in the dry foothills east of Gilroy. The Santa Clara County Open Space Authority recently acquired the Doan Ranch for a future public park, but it remains in use for cattle grazing. And in the meantime, the old windmill will have to keep doing its job of keeping the stock tanks full.
