This webcam is mounted near the top of the 150-Foot Solar Telescope at Mount Wilson. The webcam is directional with a 260 degree range and is usually pointed at something interesting. (The posted coordinates are for the view of the webcam when this waymark was created - 12/29/05.)

Views from this webcam can be spectacular (when the sun is out on a clear day or snow has fallen) or mundane (when the mountain is fogged in or it's smoggy).

I used to use this webcam to check the weather in the San Gabriel Mountains before going up to hike or geocache. The webcam page has a weather readout from the observatory's weather station.

To log your visit to this waymark you do not need to visit the physical location. Make a “virtual visit” by visiting the website, save and upload the webcam image and post your own image and leave some brief comments. Visible daytime shots only, please. Logs without photos will be archived. Thanks.

Here's a frame cap of a great view:

To log a "find" this waymark, simply post a picture from the webcam with your log. Try to get a cool shot!
