T.G.I.Friday’s ™ Malta, is situated in a historical fort, known as Sliema Point Battery, or amongst the Maltese, as “Il-Fortizza”. The fort was completed in 1876 to the design of Colonel Jervois, who incorporated many Gothic features. By 1903, the guns had been removed and the fort became a searchlight position to illuminate any enemy vessels approaching the island, especially the Grand Harbour area. The parade ground has since been roofed in, and a new bridge and archway, matching the original one facing the road, provide the entrance to T.G.I.Friday’s ™.
