In 2004, Christ Episcopal Church, in historic downtown Joliet, merged with St. Edward the Martyr on the west side of the city.

Little did they know only two years later, the former Christ Church, which had since been sold to outside interests, burned to the ground and turned into a parking lot for the nearby casino.

Today's facility offers a modern venue for worship, plus the revenue generated from the sale of the Christ Church provided the funds to build an annex church in nearby Yorkville, IL.
